The letter reads, "Mrs Brown, I am directed to transmit to you herewith a Medal which has been granted to the late No. 2775 Private W. Brown of the 3/Rifle Brigade to be kept as a memorial of his services in India 1897-98 ..." Signed "Evelyn Wood A.G." With possibly associated envelope.
Sold with a copy of the roll marking Pte. W. Brown as "deceased."
